Bad Day Trailer

Netflix has released the official trailer for Bad Day, an action comedy that puts Cameron Diaz at the center of one very long, very unlucky day. It arrives on Netflix on December 11, 2026.

The story

Diaz plays a single mom of two daughters who has made one small promise to her youngest: she'll be at her soccer game. Netflix describes it as the story of a mother trying to keep that promise on the worst day of her life, and everything seems to get in the way, from family errands to a towed car, a frozen bank account and having to prove her innocence in a bank fraud mix-up.

Who's in it

Diaz leads a packed comedy cast. Ed O'Neill plays her father, Danielle Brooks and John Higgins are police officers, Rhenzy Feliz plays her friend, and Emma Pearson and Jessica Belkin play her daughters. Mark Duplass, Rob Corddry, Ben Schwartz, Sam Richardson, Ayden Mayeri, Retta, P.J. Byrne, Sherry Cola, Edi Patterson and Beck Bennett round out the ensemble.

Behind the camera

Jake Szymanski directs. He's behind the hit series Jury Duty and the comedy Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates. Laura Solon wrote the script and executive produces with Mark Moran, and Beau Bauman produces for Good One Productions.

A Netflix film.
