Godzilla Minus Zero Trailer

Toho has released a third trailer for Godzilla Minus Zero, Takashi Yamazaki's follow-up to his Oscar-winning Godzilla Minus One. After IMAX early-access screenings on November 3, it opens across North America on November 6, 2026.

The story

The film picks up in 1949, two years after Minus One. Japan has been slowly rebuilding everyday life after the war, but just as hope returns, Godzilla comes back larger and more ferocious than before. It continues the story of the Shikishima family, and the film's own tagline promises a final reckoning: "There is no third time. Everything ends here."

Who's in it

Ryunosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe return as Kōichi Shikishima, the former kamikaze pilot, and Noriko Ōishi. Sae Nagatani plays their adopted daughter Akiko, with Munetaka Aoki as former mechanic Sōsaku Tachibana, Hidetaka Yoshioka as weapons engineer Kenji Noda and Jun Kunimura as Dr. Ogata.

Behind the camera

Yamazaki writes, directs and supervises the visual effects again, with his company Shirogumi creating the effects that won Minus One its Academy Award. Naoki Satō composes the score. It's the first Japanese production filmed for IMAX, and it plays in standard, premium and IMAX formats.

Produced by Toho and released in North America by GKIDS.
