The Gallerist Trailer

Roadside Attractions has released the official trailer for The Gallerist, the art-world comedy from director Cathy Yan that premiered at Sundance in January. It opens in theaters on December 4, 2026.

The story

Set against the excess of Art Basel Miami, the film follows Polina Polinski, an ambitious gallery owner hanging on to the edge of elite society. Fresh from a nasty separation and short of money, she's desperate to prove herself. When an accidental corpse turns up, she schemes to pass it off as the centerpiece of her debut show, and the plan spirals into a game of deception and ticking-clock chaos as influencers and police close in.

Who's in it

Natalie Portman plays Polina and Jenna Ortega plays her assistant, Kiki Gorman. Sterling K. Brown is Polina's ex-husband Tom, a canned tuna tycoon, and Zach Galifianakis plays the influencer Dalton Hardberry. Da'Vine Joy Randolph is up-and-coming artist Stella Burgess, Catherine Zeta-Jones plays art curator Marianne Gorman, Kiki's aunt, and Charli XCX is Dalton's girlfriend Alex. Daniel Brühl and Youssef Kerkour also star.

Behind the camera

Yan, who directed Birds of Prey, wrote the script with James Pedersen. Portman is among the producers, alongside Jonathan King, Ash Sarohia, Sophie Mas, Tom McCarthy, Rae Baron and Zola Elgart Glassman. MRC financed the film, and Federico Cesca shot it. Andrew Orkin and Joseph Shirley wrote the music.

Released in US theaters by Roadside Attractions and Vertical.
