Netflix has released a red band trailer for The Mosquito Bowl, Peter Berg's World War II drama about football players who went to war. It opens in select US theaters today, October 30, and streams on Netflix from November 25, 2026.
The story
Based on Buzz Bissinger's book The Mosquito Bowl: A Game of Life and Death in World War II, the film follows college football stars who gave up their careers to enlist in the Marines after Pearl Harbor. In late 1944, while training in the Pacific for the invasion of Okinawa, two Marine regiments, the 4th and the 29th, organized a football game packed with some of the best players of their generation. It became known as the Mosquito Bowl, and for many of the men it was the last game they ever played.
