Briarcliff Entertainment has released the official trailer for Drag, a dark comedy thriller that premiered at SXSW in March. It opens in theaters on January 29, 2027.
The story
Two sisters who don't get along decide to rob a secluded home in rural upstate New York. It's meant to be a simple job, until one of them throws out her back and ends up stuck on the second floor. The night spirals out of control as they try to get out before the homeowner returns.
Who's in it
Lizzy Caplan and Lucy DeVito lead the cast, with Christine Ko and John Stamos.
Behind the camera
Raviv Ullman and Greg Yagolnitzer wrote and directed the film together. It comes from the DeVito family: Danny DeVito, Lucy DeVito and Jake DeVito produced it through Jersey Films 2nd Avenue, along with Asbury Point Productions. Ben Goodman shot it, Malinda Zehner-Guerra edited, and Patrick Stump wrote the music. Filming began in March 2025, and the film runs a brisk 86 minutes.
Part heist movie, part comedy and part horror-thriller, the film had its world premiere at SXSW on March 13, 2026. Briarcliff acquired it two months later, in May 2026, and is now bringing it to theaters at the end of January.
