Netflix has released the official trailer for The Hunchback, Soul of Paris, a new French take on the Quasimodo story starring Vincent Cassel. It arrives on Netflix worldwide on November 27, 2026.
The story
It's Paris in 1830, and cholera threatens the city. A hunchbacked stone carver, feared as a monster, may hold the cure, and the police are hunting him for it. To protect a young woman named Agnès, he's pulled into the uprising on the eve of the July Revolution. The film is inspired by Victor Hugo's The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, and by archivist Adrian Glew's theory that Hugo's bell-ringer was based on a real stone carver the author met.
