FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Los Angeles, CA: Hidden Forest Pictures has begun production on Shut Up Frank, a dark comedy feature film written and directed by Ky Kenyon and starring Sydney Shear (Hulu's Emmy-nominated Social Studies). The film is Kenyon's second feature, following the psychological thriller Wilting Rose (2025). It is set to wrap post-production in early 2027, with a release planned for summer or fall 2027.
Shut Up Frank opens with Tatum (Shear) being dumped. She's not handling it well. Then there's Frank, a shadow that follows her around. He has opinions about her ex, opinions about her life, and a lot to say about why she still hasn't moved on. Tatum finds him unbearable, and Frank isn't going anywhere.
"Frank is a shadow that gives relationship advice without any boundaries," said Kenyon. "I wanted to make something funny and a little unhinged, that still knows how much a breakup hurts. Sydney plays that perfectly."
Production began in August 2026 in Los Angeles, with editing running alongside the shoot. Kenyon, an editor whose credits include the feature films 1 AM Pacific Time and The King of Black Goo and Netflix's Love, Death + Robots, is cutting the film himself.
