Netflix has released the official trailer for Allen, the first live-action feature from Ludo Studio, the Brisbane team behind Bluey. It premieres worldwide on Netflix on November 12, 2026.
The story
Twenty years ago, Petey lost the best friend he ever had: an alien called Allen. Now Petey is a grown man who never quite moved on, and when Allen's ship crash-lands on a Queensland beach, the two are reunited. Allen's return soon brings trouble to the town, and Netflix describes the film as a story about the move from childhood to adulthood. Allen himself is a CGI creation.
Who's in it
T.J. Power plays Petey, with Edward O'Sullivan as the younger version of him. Charlotte Nicdao plays Carly, with Caitlin Niemotko as young Carly. The cast also includes Josh Helman as Jaden, Emily Barclay as Sarah, Benedict Hardie as Rory, Chaydon Jay as Roy and Kaipo Heke as Nahuel.
Behind the camera
Daley Pearson created the film and directs it with Jeffrey Walker, from a script Pearson wrote with Sophie Miller. Sam Moor of Ludo Studio and Ross Allsop produce. It was shot in Queensland, based at Screen Queensland Studios in Brisbane, with location work on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, starting in July 2025.
Produced by Ludo Studio for Netflix.
