Suppers ready, Dear! Don’t Worry Darling is a film that you should go into blind. Just dive into the 1950’s style idyllic society and let it take you on its beautiful and perfect ride until you’re begging to get off.
This thrilling film is beautifully shot and errs on the artsy side as we follow our lead, Florence Pugh, through her journey of self rediscovery. She expertly carries the film on her shoulders throughout her arc of rebellion against the box she is put in. Rooting for her and her character comes naturally. Like many good thrillers, there is a twist that packs a punch but may have been obvious to those that frequent films in this genre. As for me, I did audibly gasp.
Overall, the story is nothing that we haven't seen before. But it is a very fun ride that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and awakens your inner female rage.
